Anthony Korahais is the founder of Flowing Zen, a company that offers online Tai Chi and Qigong classes. We worked together improve the user experience on the Flowing Zen website. Deliverables included user testing and WordPress web design.
Anthony is the founder of Flowing Zen. Since 2005, he has used tai chi and qigong to help 10,000+ people with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, fatigue, and more. He's a prolific blogger and offers free and paid online courses in tai chi and qigong.
Anthony contacted me to refresh the outdated design of his old site. He wanted his website to be simple and clean with a blog that's easy to read. He also wanted to promote his free qigong course and highlight his paid offerings.
The challenge was twofold: first, I needed to understand how Anthony's existing users were navigating through his site. Second, I needed to redesign the site to improve his user's experience while also being mindful of existing content and brand assets.
To start, I performed user tests on Anthony’s existing site. This allowed me to see how visitors were using his site and where they were getting lost.
Based on this data, I redesigned the Flowing Zen site to make the layouts simpler. I moved the main call to action above the fold on the homepage and made Anthony's online course offerings clearer. I also redesigned the site's blog to make the content easier to read, navigate, and share.
The end result was increased conversions and a decreased bounce rate - two great indicators of an improved user experience.
